    Information

    3M™ VHB™ Tape LSE-060WF Double-Coated Acrylic Foam Bonding Tape

    Overview

3M™ VHB™ Tape LSE-060WF is a high-performance, double-coated acrylic foam tape engineered for bonding low, medium and high surface energy materials without the need for primers or adhesion promoters in many applications. Featuring a highly conformable closed-cell acrylic foam core and high initial tack, it delivers durable structural bonding for a wide range of industrial and aerospace applications. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the tape offers excellent stress relaxation, strong adhesion to difficult plastics such as polypropylene (PP), TPO and polyamide (PA), and reliable long-term performance.

    • Typical tensile strength: 550 kPa on aluminium

    Typical Applications

    • Bonding low surface energy plastics without primers
    • Aerospace interior assemblies
    • Industrial panel attachment
    • Composite component bonding
    • Metal-to-plastic assemblies
    • Replacement for mechanical fasteners and rivets where appropriate
    • General structural industrial bonding

    Compatibility & Safety Notes

    • Designed for high, medium and low surface energy substrates
    • Most surfaces should be cleaned using a 70/30 IPA/water solution before application
    • Heavy oils, oxidation or porous materials may require additional surface preparation
    • Primers or adhesion promoters can further improve bond strength where required
    • Ideal storage conditions: 22°C and 50% relative humidity
    • Shelf life: 18 months when stored between 4°C and 38°C

    Application & Curing

    • Minimum application temperature: 0°C
    • Recommended application temperature: 21-38°C
    • Suggested minimum substrate temperature: 10-15°C
    • Apply approximately 100 kPa (15 psi) pressure for optimum bonding
    • Approximately 50% bond strength achieved after 20 minutes
    • Approximately 90% bond strength after 24 hours
    • Full bond strength typically achieved after 72 hours
    • Elevated temperature (approximately 66°C for 1 hour) can accelerate bond development

    • Standard roll length: 32.9 metres
    • Maximum width: 1118 mm
    • Minimum slit width: 6.4 mm
    • Core diameter: 76.2 mm
    • Available through standard 3M distribution and converter network
    • Custom widths and converted formats available

Why This Product is Chosen for AOG / MRO

    • Eliminates drilling and mechanical fasteners in many bonding applications
    • Excellent adhesion to difficult plastics commonly used in aerospace interiors
    • Fast installation with high initial tack
    • Conformable foam compensates for manufacturing tolerances and thermal movement
    • Long-term durability in demanding industrial and aerospace environments

    Practical Suggestions for Your Team

    • Always clean substrates thoroughly before application
    • Apply firm pressure across the full bond area to maximise adhesive contact
    • Allow 72 hours where possible before placing bonded assemblies into full service
    • Consider abrasion or adhesion promoter on challenging substrates where maximum performance is required
    • Select tape thickness based on substrate flatness and expected movement
