Sealants
Premium Aircraft Sealants for Commercial, Regional & Cargo Fleets
Aircraft sealants, also known as aerospace sealants, are high-performance adhesive materials used to seal gaps, joints, and seams in aircraft structures. Widely used across the aerospace industry, these sealants help maintain structural integrity, prevent fuel, air, and water leaks, and protect against corrosion.
Designed for extreme aviation conditions, aircraft and aerospace sealants withstand temperature fluctuations, pressure changes, and vibration. They are commonly applied to fuselage panels, windows, and fuel tanks. Key types include polysulfide, silicone, and polyurethane sealants, each tailored for specific aerospace sealing applications.
Key Types and Applications
Polysulfide Sealants: Frequently used for fuel tank sealing due to their resistance to jet fuel and aviation gasoline (e.g., 3M™ AC-350, AC-735).
Silicone Sealants: Ideal for high-temperature applications, such as engine sealing and environmental sealing (e.g., Hylomar Hylosil 607).
Fuselage/Cabin Sealants: Protect against corrosion between dissimilar metals and seal against moisture.
Conductive Sealants: Used to maintain electrical continuity, often for EMI/RFI shielding.
