3M?8905 is the thickest tape in the 8900-series, combining strong polyester backing with a silicone adhesive to deliver high durability under thermal and chemical stress. Due to its robustness, it is used where tapes must resist abrasion, chemical exposure, or mechanical handling, for instance in chemical milling or anodising preparations. The translucent blue backing is easy to see and align, and it removes in one piece after high temperature bake or exposure without fragmenting, reducing cleanup.
