The 3M?Polyester Tape?876 features a thin high?strength polyester film backing with a green rubber?based adhesive formulated for aerospace demands: clean removal after autoclave cycles up to ~177?°C (350?°F) and acceptable to ~204?°C (400?°F) for short durations. It is commonly used in composite fabrication and repair environments by aircraft engineers to secure vacuum bag seams, hold down core materials, and mask composite surfaces during cure or paint. The high temperature resistance, low residue removal and identification colour backing enhance process control and MRO efficiency. It helps ensure that tooling and lay?ups stay in place during cure, and that subsequent removal does not damage the substrate or leave adhesive residue.
