This 3M?875 tape is widely used in aerospace because it offers a very good balance of temperature resistance and clean removability. The polyester backing gives it strength and dimensional stability, while the rubber based adhesive (non-silicone) ensures good initial tack but clean peel after high-temperature curing or denaturing. It’s green for high visibility, which helps engineers during lay ups, bagging, and tooling work. After autoclave cycles or high-temperature bakes, the tape comes off easily from metals like aluminium or stainless steel, glass, or composite tool surfaces, leaving minimal residue, critical for subsequent bonding or painting steps.
