Information
PPG PR1782B-2 is a high-performance, low-density aircraft fuel tank sealant designed to offer superior sealing capabilities in demanding applications. Ideal for use in aircraft fuselage sealing, this two-part, manganese dioxide-cured polysulfide sealant provides excellent weight savings, up to 30% lighter than traditional sealants. It offers remarkable elastomeric properties, even after extended exposure to jet fuel, aviation gas, and limited contact with diphosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids. With its broad service temperature range of -54°C to 121°C (-65°F to 250°F), PR1782B-2 is built to withstand extreme conditions while ensuring durable, reliable seals.
Key Features:
- Easy Application: Low sag, thixotropic paste that can be applied by extrusion gun or spatula, ideal for fillet sealing and other fuselage sealing applications.
- High-Performance Sealant: Provides exceptional adhesion to common aircraft substrates, ensuring a long-lasting, resilient bond.
- Cured Sealant Properties: After curing at room temperature, the material maintains its elasticity, offering exceptional durability and reliability.
Applications:
This sealant is ideal for aircraft fuselage sealing, including fuel tanks and general-purpose applications, as well as fillet sealing for various parts and assemblies. It is designed for environments exposed to fuels and hydraulic fluids and is suitable for both new aircraft construction and repairs to existing sealant applications.
