    Material Engineering & Design Features

DOWSIL™ 732 is formulated as a moisture-curing silicone elastomer that develops a flexible, durable bond while maintaining performance across a wide temperature range. The cured material combines flexibility, adhesion, and electrical insulation properties, making it suitable for both structural and environmental sealing applications.

    Typical cured mechanical properties include:

    • Tensile Strength: 2.3 MPa
    • Elongation at Break: 540%
    • Shore A Hardness: 25
    • Volume Coefficient of Thermal Expansion: 1.12 10? /K

    Typical electrical properties include:

    • Dielectric Strength: 21.6 kV/mm
    • Dielectric Constant: 2.8
    • Dissipation Factor: 0.0015
    • Volume Resistivity: 1.5 10? Ohmcm

    The sealant complies with:

    • MIL-A-46106
    • FDA 177.2600

    Installation & Handling

    • Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants
    • Suitable cleaning solvents include:
      • Isopropyl alcohol
      • Acetone
      • Methyl ethyl ketone (MEK)
    • Apply directly to one prepared surface before joining components
    • Tool sealant before skin formation occurs
    • DOWSIL™ 1200 OS Primer may be used to maximize adhesion on challenging substrates
    • Typical cure depth: approximately 3 mm in 24 hours at 25°C and 50% relative humidity
    • Allow sufficient cure before handling or packaging bonded assemblies

    Environmental & Compliance Notes

    • Store at or below 32°C in original unopened containers
    • Keep containers tightly sealed when not in use
    • Releases small amounts of acetic acid during curing
    • May cause corrosion on some metallic substrates in enclosed curing environments
    • Dispose of material according to applicable local regulations
    • Not tested or represented for medical or pharmaceutical applications
    • Review Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use
