    Information

    BLUESIL™ PASTE B 431 Silicone Paste

    Overview

BLUESIL™ PASTE B 431 is a polydimethylsiloxane-based silicone paste formulated with inert fillers for lubrication, sealing, electrical insulation, and environmental protection applications. Designed for use in aggressive atmospheres and extreme temperature environments, it provides excellent moisture resistance, electrical insulation properties, and long-term lubrication performance. The paste is particularly suitable for protecting electrical equipment, lubricating mechanical assemblies, and sealing components exposed to cold, humidity, and corrosive conditions.

    Key Technical Characteristics

    • Product Type: Silicone lubrication and protection paste
    • Base Chemistry: Polydimethylsiloxane oil with inert fillers
    • Appearance: Translucent to whitish paste
    • Specific Gravity at 25°C: 1.1
    • Worked Penetration (60 strokes): 360 (1/10 mm)
    • Evaporation Loss After 24 Hours at 200°C: <3%
    • Thermal Conductivity: 0.25 W/mK
    • Dielectric Strength: >20 kV/mm
    • Dielectric Constant (1 kHz): 2.6
    • Volume Resistivity: >1 10 ?cm

    Core Performance Benefits

    • Excellent low-temperature performance
    • Provides reliable lubrication across a wide temperature range
    • Protects electrical components from moisture and corrosion
    • Hydrophobic formulation resists water ingress
    • Chemically inert toward most materials
    • Excellent dielectric insulation properties
    • Resistant to acidic atmospheres
    • Self-levelling characteristics improve surface coverage

    Typical Applications

    • Electrical terminal box protection
    • Connector sealing and moisture protection
    • Low-temperature sealing applications
    • Formed-in-place gasket protection
    • Air conditioning system mechanisms
    • Refrigeration equipment lubrication

    • Aluminium-to-aluminium lubrication applications
    • Electrical insulation systems
    • Corrosion protection in aggressive environments

    Material Engineering & Design Features

BLUESIL™ PASTE B 431 is engineered as a silicone-based protective and lubricating compound that combines excellent dielectric properties with environmental resistance. The hydrophobic formulation helps prevent moisture ingress while maintaining lubrication and electrical insulation performance under demanding operating conditions.

The paste offers strong electrical insulation characteristics, including:

    • Dielectric Strength: Greater than 20 kV/mm
    • Dielectric Constant: 2.6 at 1 kHz
    • Power Factor: 2 10? at 1 kHz
    • Volume Resistivity: Greater than 1 10 ?cm

Its silicone chemistry provides long-term stability while remaining chemically inert toward most metals, plastics, elastomers, and electrical components.

    Installation & Handling

    • Apply only to clean and dry surfaces
    • Degrease surfaces when necessary before application
    • Can be applied using:
      • Brush
