    Information

The PPG PR-1782 Class A is a high-performance, low-density aircraft fuel tank and general-purpose sealant designed for the demanding environments of aviation. Its formulation offers exceptional durability, temperature resistance (-54°C to 121°C), and weight savings of up to 30% compared to traditional sealants. This makes it an excellent choice for aerospace applications where weight and fuel efficiency are critical. The product's two-part, manganese dioxide-cured polysulfide composition allows it to be applied via brush, forming a resilient seal that adheres perfectly to common aircraft substrates.

    Key Features:

    • Low Density & Weight Savings: Provides up to 30% weight reduction per unit volume over conventional sealants.
    • Fuel & Fluid Resistance: Maintains excellent elastomeric properties after exposure to jet fuel, aviation gas, and diphosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids.
    • Strong Adhesion: Adheres well to aircraft substrates and withstands exposure to water, alcohols, petroleum-based and synthetic lubricating oils, and hydraulic fluids.

    Applications:

This sealant is ideal for aircraft fuel tanks, ensuring leak-proof performance by sealing fasteners and joints under high-stress conditions. It also works well for fuselage sealing, offering strong adhesion and flexibility across various materials. Versatile and reliable, it provides effective protection in a range of aerospace applications, safeguarding against fluids and extreme temperatures.
