Overview
5440 PU66 8H Polyurethane Gloss Topcoat is a conventional-solids, two-component polyurethane aerospace topcoat designed for the protection and decoration of aircraft interior and exterior structures. Engineered to provide exceptional durability, it delivers outstanding resistance to Skydrol®, hydraulic fluids, ultraviolet exposure and long-term weathering. Qualified to numerous Airbus, ASNA and OEM specifications, the 5440 PU66 system is suitable for both OEM aircraft production and maintenance repaint programmes.

Compatibility & Safety Notes
- Compatible with approved PPG aerospace primer systems including AIMS 04-04-002, 003, 011, 012, 077 and 078
- Use DeSoto® CN20 or Desoclean™ 45 solvent cleaners for surface preparation and equipment cleaning
- No induction time is required after mixing
- Store all components between 5°C and 35°C
- Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use

- Mix Ratio (Spray): 1 part Base to 1 part Activator 07309000 with thinner added as required
- Mix Ratio (Brush): 5 parts Base to 2 parts Activator 07079000
- Pot Life: 8 hours at 21-25°C
- Application Temperature: 15-35°C

- Apply two cross coats to achieve 30-50 micron DFT
- HVLP Spray Gun: 1.2 mm nozzle at 1.5-2.0 bar
- Pressure Pot: 1.5 mm nozzle at 3-5 bar
- Dust Free: Approximately 2 hours
- Dry to Handle: Approximately 5 hours
- Dry to Tape: 8 hours at 23°C or 30 minutes at 60°C
- Full Cure: 7 days at 23°C, 4 hours at 60°C or 2 hours at 80°C

Practical Suggestions for Your Team
- Condition all components at 15-35°C for at least 24 hours before mixing.
- Mechanically agitate the base thoroughly before adding the activator.
- Apply two even cross coats to achieve the specified dry film thickness.
- Observe the maximum 72-hour overcoat window at ambient temperature.
- Clean spray equipment immediately after use with DeSoto® CN20 or Desoclean™ 45.
