Overview
The Desothane HD 9008 system by PPG comprises a pigmented basecoat and a buffable clearcoat. It delivers a high-solids, low-VOC finish that meets demanding aerospace requirements for appearance, durability, and maintainability. The 9008 system is qualified for OEM applications (e.g., Airbus) and supports reduced cycle times, weight savings, and high gloss retention. The "CV" suffix in 9008CV-GTP0 indicates a specific fast reducer or component version within this system. Aerospace engineers select this system for exterior surface finishing of aluminum, composite skins, and structural panels in aircraft manufacturing and MRO.
