Metaflex SP 1050 is a water-based, chrome-free surface pretreatment developed for aerospace surface preparation prior to painting and coating operations. Designed to improve coating adhesion, enhance paint flexibility, and provide advanced corrosion protection, the product serves as an environmentally responsible alternative to traditional chromated pretreatment systems. It is suitable for use on aluminum, composite, titanium, and other aerospace substrates as part of approved aircraft coating systems.

The single-component formulation is supplied ready for use and requires no mixing or induction time before application.

Installation & Handling

• Ensure surfaces are free from paint chips, contaminants, silicone, oils, and residues
• Allow product to reach room temperature before use
• Apply using approved spray equipment and alumina abrasive pads (280-400 grit)
• Use either wipe-off or rinse-off application procedures
• Do not allow the product to dry on the surface during application
• Use only alumina abrasive pads to prevent surface contamination
• Do not perform solvent wiping after treatment
• Allow treated surfaces to dry completely before primer application
• Apply primer or coating system within 24 hours of treatment
