Overview

SermeTel® 1182 is a low-temperature curing green polymer touch-up coating developed by Sermatech International for the repair of damaged SermeTel® 985 protective coatings. Designed as both a functional and cosmetic repair coating, it restores corrosion protection and appearance on coated aerospace components without requiring high-temperature curing. Supplied ready for use, SermeTel® 1182 can be spray applied, brushed or swabbed, making it ideal for maintenance, overhaul and field repair applications.

Compatibility & Safety Notes

• Apply only to clean surfaces free from grease and oil contamination
• Steel substrates should be roughened with 240-grit abrasive paper or light grit blasting before application
• For aluminium alloys, an Alodine® 1200S treatment is recommended before coating
• For magnesium substrates, DOW 19 surface treatment is recommended prior to application
• Clean uncured coating and spray equipment using N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP)
• Cured coatings may be removed by light grit blasting where permitted
• Flammable liquid�keep away from heat, sparks and open flames
• Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling

• Shake or stir thoroughly before use to fully disperse suspended solids
• Ensure damaged areas are completely free of oils and grease before applying the coating
• Use spray application wherever possible to achieve the most uniform finish
• Where oven curing is unavailable, a controlled heat gun or alternative elevated-temperature cure may be used where approved
• Store between 1.6°C and 7.2°C and rotate stock regularly due to the six-month shelf life
• Keep small repair kits available for rapid coating restoration during AOG maintenance events
