    CAAPCOAT® FP-200 Color Matched Gloss Rain Erosion Coating

    Overview

    CAAPCOAT® FP-200 is a two-component, room-temperature curing polyurethane elastomer developed to protect aircraft radomes, antennas and leading edges from high-speed rain erosion. The coating combines outstanding erosion resistance with colour-matching capability for both military camouflage and commercial aesthetic applications. It can also be overcoated with CAAPCOAT® FP-050 to achieve a low-lustre finish while maintaining the proven rain erosion protection associated with CAAPCOAT polyurethane systems.

    Compatibility & Safety Notes

    • All substrates must be primed before application
    • Aeroglaze® 9947 Wash Primer is the recommended primer for optimum adhesion and future repairability
    • Do not sand or solvent wipe the primer before topcoating
    • Ground all metal equipment and aircraft components during spraying to prevent static discharge
    • Use only with adequate ventilation and keep away from ignition sources
    • Contains flammable solvents including methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK), xylene and less than 1% free isocyanate
    • Do not store above 38°C (100°F)

    Practical Suggestions for Your Team (AOG Mindset)

    • Prepare surfaces thoroughly by sanding or grit blasting before priming
    • Apply Aeroglaze® 9947 Wash Primer at 0.5-1.0 mil before applying FP-200
    • Apply multiple thin coats with 5-20 minutes flash-off between coats to achieve the required film build
    • Monitor spray viscosity during application as the activated material thickens over time and additional thinner may be required
    • Use smaller quantities of accelerator when longer pot life is required for complex repairs
    • Clean spray equipment immediately after use with acetone or MEK to prevent cured material buildup
