Overview
PRIMER SP350 is a chromate-free, three-component high-solid epoxy primer designed for aircraft structural corrosion protection and surface durability. It is widely used in aviation manufacturing and Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) environments to protect metallic airframe components, especially treated aluminium alloys. Aerospace teams rely on SP350 for its strong adhesion, chemical resistance, and compatibility with polyurethane topcoats such as XS420.

Compatibility & Safety Notes
- Compatible substrates include Alodine 1200 conversion layers, chromic acid anodizing (sealed or unsealed), sulfuric or tartaric-sulfuric anodizing treatments.
- For steel components with cadmium or phosphate coatings, perform solvent reactivation cleaning before application.
- Use dry, oil-free compressed air during spray application.
- Wear appropriate aerospace-grade PPE and follow the Safety Data Sheet during handling.
Packaging & Procurement
- Available as base, hardener, and thinner components or as complete SP350 kits.
- Packaging options support maintenance operations, including 45 mL touch-up kits for field repair.
- Store unopened containers in temperature-controlled conditions between 5°C and 35°C (41°F and 95°F).
- Ensure containers are tightly sealed after opening to maintain product stability.
Why PRIMER SP350 is Chosen for AOG / MRO
- Fast and reliable corrosion barrier performance for critical aircraft structures
- Flexible application through spray or brush methods
- Portable touch-up kit options for AOG field operations
- Predictable curing behavior supporting maintenance scheduling
- High adhesion performance on treated aluminium alloys
Practical Suggestions for Your Team (AOG Mindset)
- Pre-condition base and hardener components at 18°C–25°C (64°F–77°F) for approximately 24 hours before mixing.
- Follow the recommended mixing ratio of 100:11 (base to hardener by weight).
- Sieve mixed material through 120–150 µm filters before spray application.
- Respect pot life limits by covering mixed material during use.
- When temperature exceeds 28°C (82.4°F), use SP350 PLUS thinner for viscosity adjustment.
