    Overview

    MAPAERO® TOPCOAT A1500-M is a three-component polyurethane topcoat developed for aircraft exterior finishing applications. Engineered to provide excellent chemical resistance, UV durability, and long-term appearance retention, the coating delivers high-gloss decorative finishes while maintaining protection against demanding aerospace operating environments. The system is qualified to multiple Airbus Helicopters specifications and is available in a full range of colors and gloss levels for OEM and MRO aircraft painting programs.

    The system utilizes:

    • A1500-M Base
    • A1500-M Hardener
    • P2 Thinner

    For textured finishes, FRS Hardener may be incorporated into the system according to approved application procedures.

    Installation & Handling

    • Apply over approved anticorrosion primer systems sanded with P240-P400 abrasive paper
    • Clean surfaces with lint-free cloths and isopropyl alcohol prior to application
    • Recommended spray mixing ratio by volume:
      • 1 Part A1500-M Base
      • 1 Part A1500-M Hardener
      • 0-0.5 Parts P2 Thinner
    • No induction time required after mixing
    • Recommended application temperature: 15°C to 35°C
    • Recommended relative humidity: 30-75%
    • Typical spray nozzle size: 1.5-1.8 mm
    • Apply one crossed coat, allow flash-off, then apply one or more wet crossed coats to achieve final film thickness
    • Use dry, oil-free compressed air during spraying
