Overview

Aviox® Advanced Mica Series is a high-solids, three-component polyurethane special effect coating developed for premium commercial aircraft exterior liveries. Used as part of the Aviox® Finish 77702 / Aviox® Advanced Mica Series / Aviox® Clearcoat UVR coating system, it creates a distinctive metallic and sparkling appearance while maintaining excellent durability, repairability and resistance to hydraulic fluids and chemicals. Designed for OEM production and aircraft repaint programmes, it delivers a long-lasting decorative finish with a permanent wet-look appearance.

Compatibility & Safety Notes

• Apply only over Aviox® Finish 77702 basecoat
• Overcoat with Aviox® Clearcoat UVR for optimum durability and appearance
• Prepare aged coatings using P320 abrasive paper or very fine aluminium oxide non-woven abrasive pads
• Remove all application equipment filters to minimise pigment clogging
• Pressure atomising equipment is not recommended for some special effect pigments
• Clean equipment immediately after use with Solvent Cleaning C28/15 or Solvent Cleaning 98068
• Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use

• Mix Ratio: 2 parts Aviox® Advanced Mica Series, 1 part Hardener 90150 and 1 part Activator 99321 or 99341
• Induction Time: None - apply immediately after mixing
• Pot Life: 2 hours at 23°C
• Application Temperature: 15-35°C
• Relative Humidity: 35-75%
• Spray Nozzle: 1.2-1.5 mm
• Apply one light closed coat followed by one even wet coat after 60-75 minutes
• Surface Dry: 1.5-2 hours
• Dry to Tape: 2-15 hours depending on colour, activator and environmental conditions
• Maximum Recoat Window: 48 hours
• Recommended Activator 99341 for complete fuselage applications and Activator 99321 for markings and small areas
