    Ardrox® 396/1 E8 Water-Displacing Corrosion Inhibitor

    Overview

    Ardrox® 396/1 E8 is a petroleum-based, water-displacing corrosion inhibitor developed by Chemetall for aerospace maintenance, manufacturing and preservation applications. Formulated with a blend of surfactants, corrosion inhibitors and lubricating oil, it rapidly displaces moisture, penetrates into crevices and leaves a thin protective oily film that provides temporary corrosion protection. In addition to corrosion prevention, Ardrox® 396/1 E8 is widely used as a penetrating fluid for seized components, for preserving gas turbine compressors and for restoring wet electrical equipment without the need for complete drying.

    • Not recommended for long-term outdoor corrosion protection; Ardrox® 3140 is recommended for extended outdoor preservation
    • Product may be removed using white spirit, Ardrox® 9PR50 or Ardrox® 5503

    • Maintain a minimum protective film thickness greater than 5 microns for optimum corrosion protection
    • Agitate or mix the product before use if any settling has occurred during storage
    • Remove the protective film prior to painting or bonding operations using the recommended Ardrox® cleaners or white spirit
    • For long-term outdoor storage, specify Ardrox® 3140 instead of Ardrox® 396/1 E8
