Information
The Indestructible IP9444 (marketed as “Smoothseal”) is a highperformance, inorganic protective coating designed specifically for aerospace applications. It is applied over sacrificial conductive coatings such as Ipcote IP9183R1 or Ipthin IP9356 to seal their inherent porosity without affecting the underlying conductive or sacrificial function. This duallayer approach results in a harder, ultrasmooth finish which enhances airflow, reduces dirt accumulation, and elevates corrosion protection in demanding environments (such as turbine compressors, landing gear, or engine nacelle zones). It is widely used in MRO for aircraft airframe and engine components where surface finish and durability are critical.
