The film incorporates a heat-sealable system with an integrated waterproof fire barrier, providing burnthrough protection, flame resistance, and environmental durability for fuselage insulation systems. Qualified to Boeing BMS8-396 Type I & II requirements, TERFLAME 30 is specifically engineered for demanding aerospace fire protection applications.

    TERFLAME 30 combines reinforced PEEK film technology with a specialized heat-sealable adhesive system and waterproof fire barrier. The design enables reliable thermal sealing while maintaining burnthrough resistance and fire safety performance required for modern aircraft insulation systems.

    The material is qualified to:

    • BMS8-396 Type I & Type II

    Insulation blankets manufactured using TERFLAME 30 can be reinforced and repaired using KB57, qualified to BMS5-157 Type I Class 2 & 3.

    Fire performance testing demonstrates compliance with major aerospace requirements:

    • FAR 25.853(a) Vertical Burn Test � Pass
    • FAR 25.856(a) Radiant Panel Flame Propagation Test � Pass
    • FAR 25.856(b) Burnthrough Test � Pass
    • Boeing BSS 7238 & BSS 7239 Smoke and Toxicity Requirements � Pass

    Installation & Handling

    • Designed for thermal sealing using:
      • Thermal impulse sealing bars
      • Heated roller systems
    • Compatible with BMS 8-380 covering film systems
    • Recommended application environment:
      • Temperature: +10°C to +30°C
      • Relative Humidity: Approximately 50%
    • Position film with adhesive sides facing each other before sealing
    • Activate adhesive during application of the sealing tool
    • Do not use solvent cleaning on the adhesive side of the film
    • Test validation is recommended for specific blanket configurations

    Environmental & Compliance Notes

    • Qualified for Boeing applications under BMS8-396 Type I & II
    • Suitable for all Boeing programs except B787 according to qualification status
    • Store under shelter at temperatures not exceeding +30°C (+86°F)
    • Recommended storage humidity approximately 50% RH
