Information
RENOLIT 762 High Temperature Jointing Compound
Overview
RENOLIT 762 High Temperature Jointing Compound is a high-temperature sealing compound developed by FUCHS Lubricants for sealing metal joints exposed to extreme heat. Designed primarily for preventing leakage of air and gases, it provides optimum sealing performance between 550°C and 760°C, while remaining effective over a broader temperature range under suitable operating conditions. Commonly used in aerospace and automotive exhaust systems, the compound is highly adhesive to metal surfaces, non-combustible, and can be removed after service for maintenance.

- Rigid metal flange sealing
- Industrial high-temperature gas joint applications
Key Features & Benefits
- Excellent sealing performance at elevated temperatures.
- Highly adhesive to metallic joint faces.
- Non-combustible formulation for high-temperature service.
- Produces reliable gas-tight joints.
- Simple application using standard workshop tools.
- Can be separated after service without damaging components.
- Residue can be removed using hot water and brushing.
- Widely approved by major aerospace engine manufacturers.
Application Guidelines
- Apply a thin, even layer to both mating surfaces using a flexible knife or spatula.
- Assemble the joint immediately after application.
- Where in-situ curing is required, heat the assembled joint to approximately 100°C using a suitable heating method such as a hot-air blower.
- After service, separate joints by gently tapping with a soft mallet.
- Remove remaining compound by soaking components in hot water for approximately one hour before wire brushing.
- For larger components, apply hot water with a sponge or cloth before scraping or wire brushing.
Compatibility & Limitations
- Designed primarily for rigid metallic joint faces.
- Best performance achieved on smooth, distortion-free sealing surfaces.
- Suitable for sealing air and other gas joints.
- Performance depends on joint design and operating conditions.
- Process validation is recommended for specialised applications.
Packaging & Procurement
- 225 g dispensing tube
- Available through authorised FUCHS Lubricants distributors
- Previously marketed as SILKOLENE 762 High Temperature Jointing Compound
