Stainless steel safety/locking wire supplied as a 0.5 kg reel (1.1023 lb); wire diameter 22 SWG = 0.7112 mm (0.0280 in). Used where vibration and torque-back risk require mechanical secondary locking of fasteners. Provides positive mechanical locking of nuts, bolts, castellated nuts, turnbuckles, and similar fasteners to prevent loosening under vibration. Ideal for safety-wiring of aircraft fasteners on airframe and engine accessories, securing turnbuckles, locking fuel and oil line fittings, retaining hardware on flight controls, and temporary/field repairs where cotter pins or prevailing-torque fasteners are not suitable.
