Information
The 3M ScotchWeld AF?1262 film adhesive is a toughened, thermosetting epoxy film designed for aerospace structural bonding applications. It comes in widths of 36?inches (≈?91.4?cm) and lengths of 36?yards (≈?32.9?m) on a roll, with nominal thickness ~0.005?in (≈?0.13?mm) for the 0.03?wt. version (~147?g/m²). It cures at 121?°C (≈?250?°F) in about 1?hour under 50?psi (≈?0.35?MPa) pressure, and is qualified for metal, composite and honeycomb sandwich panel applications in aerospace. The film adhesive is referenced in aerospace structural work instructions and is approved to specifications such as IPS 100600105 (Airbus) and BMS?5129 Type?2 Class?IIA Grade?5 (Boeing) for bonded structural joints.
