Information
Oakite 61B is a concentrated powder degreaser used in aerospace MRO to strip oil, grease, and light contaminants from metal surfaces. Its alkaline formulation allows effective cleaning without aggressive acid-based chemistries, reducing the risk of hydrogen embrittlement in high-strength alloys. After cleaning, parts may be rinsed and neutralised, enabling a clean surface ready for processes like painting, bonding, or inspection. Aerospace engineers use it to ensure surface cleanliness meets the stringent requirements needed for high-fidelity NDT and coatings.
