Ardrox?188 from Chemetall is a specialty cleaner developed for the aerospace engine maintenance environment. Its alkaline powder blend includes oxidising agents intended to treat stubborn heat scale and carbonaceous residues on high-performance alloys (such as highchrome steels or nickel/cobalt superalloys) that resist conventional acid cleaning methods. The product facilitates more efficient cleaning of hotsection components by chemically altering the scale to make it easier to remove by milder physical or chemical methods, thereby reducing labour and component damage. It plays a critical role in engine MRO workflows by preparing surfaces for inspection, coating or further repair steps while supporting OEM/repair station requirements for cleanliness and component integrity.
