Loctite 4204 is a high viscosity, toughened ethyl cyanoacrylate adhesive engineered to provide durable bonds under elevated temperature (–40 °C to 121 °C / –40 °F to 250 °F) and impact loading. With a fixture time around ~75 seconds and shear strength ~16.5?N/mm² (~2400?psi) for mild steel, it is well suited for aviation bonding points where parts experience thermal shocks, vibration and dynamic loads. Its high viscosity allows for better filling of gaps up to ~0.2 mm (~0.008″) while still curing quickly. In aircraft MRO, this adhesive can replace traditional mechanical fastening or weld repair in minor assemblies, especially where faster maintenance operations are valued and the bonded interface must endure service conditions.
