Larger Description Loctite 220 is designed for applications where a secure joint is needed but future disassembly must remain viable without destructive heat or torque. As it cures anaerobically between metal surfaces, it prevents fastener loosening due to vibration or thermal cycling. In aerospace MRO, it's often used on non-load bearing or service-access fasteners like access panels, avionics compartments, or small instrumentation screws, places where disassembly is expected during inspections or servicing. It provides enough retention to avoid vibration-related loosening but low enough strength that removal is practical using hand tools.
