Overview

Araldite® 2022-1 is a two-component, toughened methacrylate structural adhesive developed by Huntsman Advanced Materials for fast assembly and structural bonding across a wide range of substrates, including materials that are traditionally difficult to bond. Offering an excellent balance between working time and cure speed, the adhesive cures at room temperature, tolerates less-than-ideal surface preparation and fills gaps up to 4 mm, making it well suited for aerospace manufacturing, repair and MRO applications.

• Provides excellent performance with minimal surface preparation, although degreasing and abrasion are recommended for maximum bond strength
• Clean substrates using acetone or isopropanol (for plastics); avoid petrol, low-grade alcohols and paint thinners
• Apply adhesive to clean, dry surfaces and assemble components immediately after application
• Clean uncured adhesive from tools using hot water and soap before curing occurs
• Wear suitable gloves, eye protection and ensure adequate ventilation during use
• Store unopened components between 2°C and 8°C; avoid prolonged storage above 25°C
