    Information

    LOCTITE® 263™ High Strength Threadlocker

    Overview

LOCTITE® 263™ is a high-strength, one-component anaerobic threadlocking adhesive designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners. It cures in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces to prevent loosening caused by vibration, shock and thermal cycling. Engineered for heavy-duty industrial and aerospace applications, LOCTITE® 263™ provides reliable performance on both active and passive metals, including stainless steel and plated fasteners, while tolerating light oil contamination during assembly.

    • Gearboxes and transmission assemblies
    • Heavy-duty threaded connections exposed to vibration
    • Permanent sealing of threaded fittings

    Compatibility & Safety Notes

    • Suitable for steel, stainless steel, brass, copper and plated metal fasteners
    • Tolerates minor contamination from lubricating oils and corrosion protection fluids
    • Not recommended for most thermoplastics due to potential stress cracking
    • Not suitable for pure oxygen, oxygen-rich systems or chlorine service
    • Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use
    • Store unopened between 8°C and 21°C for optimum performance

    Application & Curing

    • Clean threaded surfaces before application where possible
    • Shake bottle thoroughly before use
    • Apply directly to male or female threads depending on assembly type
    • For blind holes, apply adhesive to the lower third of the internal thread
    • For sealing applications, apply a continuous 360° bead around the leading threads
    • Assemble and tighten immediately after application
    • Where faster cure is required, use a compatible LOCTITE® activator
    • For disassembly, heat the fastener locally to approximately 250°C before removal

    Packaging & Procurement
