3M™ Structural Adhesive SA 9820 is a high-performance, two-component epoxy structural adhesive engineered for bonding aluminium and composite materials in demanding automotive and aerospace applications. Originally developed for body-in-white structural assembly, it provides exceptional crash resistance, high bond strength and excellent durability under heat, humidity and salt exposure. With broad process tolerances, compatibility with lubricated substrates and room-temperature strength build-up, SA 9820 is well suited to structural bonding applications requiring robust long-term performance.

- Store between 10°C and 30°C for optimum shelf life and dispensing performance
Application & Curing

- Develops good pre-E-coat wash-out resistance after approximately 2 hours
- Can be induction activated above 100°C for accelerated curing
- Typical oven cure temperatures: 165-200°C
- Recommended minimum room-temperature dwell before bake: 2 hours
- For maximum performance, allow 24 hours room-temperature cure before baking where practical
- Uncured adhesive may be removed mechanically before cure
