Material Engineering & Design Features
E&H #743-3WF combines a flexible closed-cell PVDF foam core with a fire-retardant acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive to provide reliable sealing and cushioning performance while meeting demanding aerospace flammability requirements. The closed-cell construction helps resist compression while maintaining lightweight characteristics.
Typical adhesive performance on aluminum (ASTM D3330) includes:
- Room Temperature: 4.6 lb/in width
- 120°F (100% RH): 5.1 lb/in width
- 160°F: 5.2 lb/in width
- -65°F: 4.5 lb/in width
The adhesive system also demonstrates excellent static shear performance with no movement after 24 hours under PSTC-7 test conditions.
Installation & Handling
- Apply to clean, dry, contaminant-free surfaces
- Use firm application pressure to ensure complete adhesive contact
- Recommended primarily for aluminum and approved aerospace substrates
- Avoid contamination of the adhesive surface during installation
- Store under recommended environmental conditions until use
- Follow approved aerospace installation procedures where applicable
