    Overview

P/S 870 Class C (PS870C 12) is a corrosion inhibitive, two part manganese dioxide cured polysulfide sealant designed for fuselage and roller/faying surface sealing. It maintains excellent elastomeric properties across a broad temperature range and provides a reliable corrosion barrier on aerospace alloys.

    Key Technical Specs

    • Temperature Range: 65 F ( 54 C) to 250 F (121 C), intermittent to 275 F (135 C)
    • Mix Ratio (A:B by weight): 17:100
    • Ultimate Hardness: ~50 Shore A
    • Tensile Strength: ~250 psi (standard cure, 14 days)
    • Elongation: ~250%
    • Low Temp Flexibility: No cracking at 65 F ( 54 C)
    • Hydrocarbon Resistance: Excellent after 7 days @ 140 F (60 C)
    • Salt Spray Resistance: 670 hrs ASTM B117, no corrosion or sealant deterioration
    • Lap Shear Strength: 232 250 psi depending on substrate and conditions

    Typical Applications

    • Fuselage sealing
    • Roller and faying surface sealing
    • OEM assembly and maintenance sealing
    • Applications on anodized aluminum, titanium, and aerospace alloys

    Surface Preparation

Clean surfaces thoroughly with approved solvents and lint free cloths. Remove all dirt, grease, or processing lubricants. Dry surfaces completely before application to prevent contamination.

    Mixing Instructions

Mix Part A and Part B separately to uniformity, then combine per the specified ratio. Blend thoroughly to avoid unmixed areas. Apply using a spatula or extrusion gun.

    Packing Options

Supplied in two part kits and Semco cartridges.

    Storage Life

Minimum 6 months when stored below 80 F (27 C) in original, unopened containers.

    Notes

    • Adhesion may vary depending on substrate composition; testing is recommended.
    • Results may vary slightly due to environmental or processing conditions.
    • For industrial use only; follow MSDS safety precautions.
