Overview

Floorsil™ 2 is a high-performance, one-component RTV-1 silicone sealant developed specifically for demanding aircraft flooring applications. Based on an oxime cross-linking system, it cures at room temperature to produce a durable, flexible seal with exceptional resistance to chemicals, UV exposure, weathering and heavy mechanical traffic. Designed for sealing non-textile silicone and PVC floor coverings in aircraft, Floorsil™ 2 is approved to Airbus specifications and offers long-term performance in high-duty floor joints and acid-proof constructions.

Compatibility & Safety Notes

• Designed primarily for silicone and aircraft flooring applications
• Excellent primerless adhesion to Airfloor and Airflex flooring systems
• For PVC and similar materials, Floorsil™ 1217 primer is recommended
• Not suitable for sewage systems, motorway joints, runway joints or petrol pump installations
• Avoid contact with plasticiser-migrating materials such as EPDM, neoprene, butyl rubber and bituminous products
• Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use

Application & Curing

• Apply to clean, dry and contamination-free substrates
• Clean non-porous surfaces using methylated spirits or acetone/isopropanol-based cleaners
• Allow primer (where required) to dry for at least 15 minutes before sealing
• Fill joints completely to eliminate trapped air
• Tool sealant before skin formation to achieve full adhesion
• Remove masking tape immediately after tooling
• Allow 24-48 hours curing before exposing sealed joints to mechanical or chemical loads
• Maintain a minimum 50 cm distance when cleaning with steam jet equipment
