PPG Celogliss® 5456 is a two-component polyurethane abrasion-resistant topcoat developed for aerospace applications where painted surfaces are exposed to repeated mechanical wear from moving components. Designed to provide exceptional abrasion resistance while maintaining excellent chemical, hydraulic fluid, water, and UV resistance, the coating is widely used on aircraft surfaces requiring long-term durability under demanding operational conditions.

Celogliss® 5456 is engineered as a conventional-solids polyurethane topcoat that combines exceptional abrasion resistance with long-term environmental durability. The coating maintains its protective performance while resisting mechanical wear, ultraviolet exposure, aviation fluids, and weathering.
The coating is qualified to major aerospace specifications including:

Installation & Handling
- Prepare surfaces using approved aerospace solvent cleaners such as DeSoto® CN20 or Desoclean™ 45
- Ensure all components are conditioned to 15-35°C for at least 24 hours before mixing
- Stir or shake the base thoroughly before mixing
- Add activator while stirring, followed by thinner as required to achieve application viscosity
- No induction time is required
- Recommended application conditions:
- Temperature: 15-35°C
- Relative Humidity: 30-85%
- Apply several cross coats to achieve the recommended film thickness
- Recommended spray equipment:
- HVLP Air Spray: 1.2-1.4 mm nozzle
- Pressure Pot: 1.4-1.5 mm nozzle
- Clean equipment immediately after use using DeSoto® CN20, CN44, or Desoclean™ 45 solvent cleaners
