Overview

Aerobase® is a low-VOC, three-component polyurethane basecoat developed for commercial aircraft exterior decoration systems. Used as part of the Aerobase® / Aviox Clearcoat UVR system, it delivers excellent opacity in a single coat for most colours while providing outstanding gloss retention, weather resistance and chemical durability. Designed to reduce process times and film weight, Aerobase® meets major OEM aerospace specifications and is suitable for both aircraft production and MRO repainting programmes.

• Compatible with approved Aerodur® epoxy primer systems
• Use only with Aerobase® Curing Solution and Aerobase® Standard Activator

• Prepare aged coatings using P320 abrasive paper or aluminium oxide non-woven abrasive pads
• Clean equipment immediately after use with Solvent Cleaning C28/15 or Solvent Cleaning 98068

• Mix Ratio: 5 parts Aerobase®, 1 part Aerobase® Curing Solution and 1 part Aerobase® Standard Activator
• Induction Time: None - apply immediately after mixing
• Pot Life: 2 hours at 23°C
• Application Temperature: 15-35°C
• Relative Humidity: 35-75%
• Spray Nozzle: 1.2-1.5 mm (conventional or HVLP)
• Apply one homogeneous wet coat to achieve 30-60 micron DFT (additional coat if required)
• Surface Dry: 1.5-2 hours
• Dry to Tape: 2-3 hours
