AkzoNobel Aerowave® 2501 is a low-VOC, two-component composite stopper designed for filling surface imperfections prior to aerospace coating applications. Engineered for composite, plastic, metallic, and primed substrates, the product provides a shrinkage-free repair material that cures rapidly at ambient temperatures while remaining flexible after curing. As part of the Aerowave® coating system, it is designed to reduce process times, lower operational costs, and improve finishing quality for aerospace manufacturing and repair operations.

Aerowave® 2501 utilizes modern resin technology to produce a lightweight, flexible repair material that maintains dimensional stability throughout curing. Unlike conventional fillers, it does not shrink or swell during application, helping preserve repair accuracy and reducing the need for rework.

Installation & Handling
- Mix equal parts Aerowave® 2501 and Curing Solution 6009 until a uniform color is achieved
- No induction time is required
- Apply using a filling knife or spatula
- Fill flaws, cracks, and holes in a single application where possible
- Allow material to dry completely before sanding
- Sand using P240, followed by P320 and finish with P400 grit
- Clean tools immediately after use with Solvent Cleaning C28/15 or Solvent Cleaning 98068
- Recommended recoating within 72 hours after sanding

- Store between 5°C and 25°C in original unopened containers
- Short-term exposure (up to 48 hours) to temperatures up to 40°C will not affect shelf life
