Overview
Ardrox 185L is a water-miscible, strongly alkaline cleaner containing sequestrants, formulated for aerospace derusting operations. It effectively dissolves rust and scale at 82-93°C (180-200°F) in immersion tanks without hydrogen embrittling high-strength steel, making it safer than acid pickling for critical components. Major OEM approvals include CFMI CFM56, Rolls-Royce, GE, and Pratt & Whitney. Thorough rinsing is required after use, often followed by protective fluids to prevent rerusting.
