Explore superior fire safety with the ARALDITE 1570FST Flame-Retardant Adhesive Kit, a high-performance solution from Aerospheres, ideal for structural bonding applications where flame resistance is paramount.

    Product Description:

ARALDITE-1570FST-A/B is an exceptional adhesive solution, crafted with precision and engineered for aerospace applications that demand flame-retardant properties. Its primary application involves bonding PE foam to phenolic GRP in cargo areas, where fire safety is paramount. This adhesive has earned its reputation by meeting the high standards set by AIMS 10-04-006 and adhering to key Flame Smoke Toxicity (FST) standards such as FAR 25.853 (a), FAR 25.853 (a-1), and AITM 3.0005.

    Key Properties:

    • Two-component epoxy adhesive
    • Flame retardant
    • Room temperature curing

    Equipment Maintenance:

Efficiently maintaining your tools and equipment is essential. Clean them before adhesive residues have a chance to cure. Removing cured residues can be a laborious task. If solvents like acetone are used for cleaning, take necessary precautions to avoid skin and eye contact.

ARALDITE-1570FST-A/B excels in flammability tests, meeting FAR 25.853 (a) standards with an impressive Bunsen Burner Test, Vertical – 60s Ignition Time. Its cure cycle involves 4 hours at 60°C.

The adhesive also performs admirably in smoke tests, particularly in the Flaming Mode, in compliance with FAR 25.853 (a-1) and AITM 2.0007 standards. Again, the cure cycle lasts 4 hours at 60°C.

When it comes to toxicity, ARALDITE-1570FST-A/B complies with AITM 3.0005 and ABD 0031 standards, with a cure cycle of 4 hours at 60°C.

Proper storage is key to maintaining the adhesive's effectiveness. ARALDITE-1570FST-A and ARALDITE-1570FST-B can be safely stored for up to 1 year at 2-8°C, provided the components are sealed in containers. The expiry date is indicated on the label. To ensure longevity, store containers in a dry atmosphere and protect them from moisture and direct heat sources.

While this adhesive is generally safe to handle, it's crucial to follow standard chemical handling precautions. Avoid contact with foodstuffs, utensils, and skin. Use impervious rubber or plastic gloves and eye protection. Adequate ventilation in the working area is recommended. Detailed safety information can be found in the Material Safety Data Sheets for individual products.
