/ Procurement Manager

Full time (8:30am to 5:00pm), Monday to Friday
(additional hours may also be required on both weekday and weekends)

Job Purpose:

The Procurement Manager will lead the Procurement team to maintain core inventory levels efficiently, achieve cost savings, and implement supplier rationalisation strategies. You will collaborate closely with the Sales team to ensure optimal stock levels, generate revenue, and maintain high customer satisfaction. This role oversees daily procurement activities to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Procurement Buyers and Administrators, supporting the P2P process while ensuring high performance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Oversee inventory levels for aerospace chemicals and materials, addressing shortages promptly to minimise disruptions.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive compliance with regulatory and safety standards for aerospace chemicals.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Warehouse teams to align procurement with business needs.
  • Monitor team performance, resolve escalated issues, and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare reports on procurement performance, inventory, and cost-saving initiatives for senior management.

Competencies and key skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of aerospace chemicals, including their procurement, storage, and usage requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on urgency and customer satisfaction.
  • Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure.
  • Commercial and financial awareness, with a deep understanding of the impact of inventory management on business performance.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring compliance with industry and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

  • Experience managing procurement operations for aerospace chemicals, adhesives, and specialised materials (FMCG and CPG experience also considered).
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for aerospace chemicals.
  • CIPS qualification or active progression toward CIPS is desirable.
  • Proven ability to handle urgent stock issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships in the aerospace sector, ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems.
